And here comes the next post in my Christmas gift series. This year I decided that everyone will receive only crochet gifts (oh yes I’m feeling VERY sorry for them ;)) But it’s just must more fun to go to the yarn store instead of squeezing through crowded shopping centres and at least it’s something personal :). As I love crocheting scarves there will be most likely some new scarf pattern coming up for you soon :) But why wait when I’ve got already the first one done :)
Snuggly pastel cowl pattern
You’ll need:
- nice snuggly aran yarn (I used Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran in rose and silver for this project)
- 6 mm hook
- tapestery needle
ch= chain
sc= single crochet (US term); double crochet (dc, UK term)
st= stitch(es)
hdc = half double crochet (US term); half treble crochet (htr, UK term)
In my patterns UK terms are always given in brackets.
Chain 130, pay attention not to twist your chain and slip stitch into first ch (if you want your cowl to be wider and turn it more into an infinity scarf rather than a cowl/neckwarmer just add as many ch as you want)
Round 1: Ch 2, hdc (htr) in each st, join
change to silver
Round 2: Ch 2, hdc (htr) in each st, join
change to rose
Round 3: ch 1, sc (dc) in each st, join.
change to silver
Round 4: ch 1, sc (dc) in each st, join.
Round 5- 16: repeat round 1-4, keep on alternating the colour between the rounds
with silver yarn
Round 17: Ch 2, hdc (htr) in each st, join and fasten off
If the cowl is not high enough for your taste just keep on repeating round 1-4 until your desired height is reached :)
I made an attachable flower with the left over yarn to give it a little twist.
I would love to see how your snuggly scarf turned out :) so feel free to send me either a picture or post it to my Facebook wall :)
Happy Crocheting!
